I keep having this little problem, in that I keep getting sick. Like, a lot. A lot, a lot. I feel like I've been sick more than I've been not sick, and it sucks. I keep reading these news reports about how pregnant women are especially at risk for this stupid swine flu thing, so I'm even more hypochondriacal than normal, and let me tell you, I am definitely one of those people who always think they're dying. Every time I stub my toe, I'm sure it's broken (no, really, it hurt
that bad), so having the flu three times (so far) makes me waaaaay paranoid.
I blame the baby. Babies are made of brain cells and immune systems, apparently.
So here I am, decaf tea in hand, bundled up in my ugliest sweats and a blanket, feeling sorry for myself and trying to summon the energy to eat.
Also, there has been the teeny tiny problem that it's been either raining, or hot as hell, or that gross sticky combination of both, ever since I got the baby news. I am desperate to get one last outside climbing day in before I get too big for there to be a point, and the weather is thwarting me at every turn! What on earth does the weather have against me? I never did anything to the weather! Why's weather gotta be such a bitch? If weather wasn't sort of an intangible thing, I would totally want to kick weather's ass right now, but I wouldn't be able to because I'm pregnant, but I would talk some serious shit and maybe slap it a little, just to get my point across. Come on, weather, I just need one nice weekend, and then you can screw up the rest of the season for everyone else, I won't even care.
Mostly, I just want one climbing picture in which I don't care that I look fat, because how much of a badass am I for doing it at all, much less four months pregnant? Ugh! I've never had the chance to have a picture of me looking fat not matter. Weather is totally taking that golden opportunity away from me.
So when you put those two problems together, you get one seriously cranktastic Heather. I've spent the last four months either sick, or thwarted by the heat and/or rain, and pregnant to round it off. The point is, my poor husband can't take much more of my bad moods, and might go completely insane soon if something doesn't change. I'm
that hard to live with right now.
Come on, Weather and Immune System, pull it together, just for one weekend. Tim really needs this from you.
